Anthony "Tony" Homcy, 86, the son of the late George J. Sr. and Nora Homcy was called home to be with the Lord on February 6, 2013. Tony leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 50 years, Ann P. Homcy; daughter and husband Lauren and Dan Beach; four sons and their wives, Stephen and Patty Homcy; John and Cynthia Homcy; David and Carolyn Homcy; Matthew Homcy and Leslie Carmines; eight grandchildren; one great granddaughter; brother George J. Homcy, Jr. and wife Elaine; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Tony was born on May 8, 1926, in Paterson, NJ. He served in the Army Air Corps 1944-1946, returned to graduate from William Paterson College, received a master's degree in education and taught at both the elementary and college levels. Later he was involved in educational sales and consulting.

He lived many years in Ridgewood, NJ and Wilmington, NC. Tony embraced all life had to offer from fencing to ping pong, fishing and golfing, family beach and skiing vacations, and coaching all his sons through little league baseball. His love for music was legendary as he participated in men's choruses, barbershop quartets and as a square dance caller. He also performed in musical theater and loved to play the ukelele. Above all he loved the Lord and his family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 16, 11 am at Landstown Community Church, 3220 Monet Drive in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the church at this address.
