ELIZABETH " BETTY" LEE ANDERSON Elizabeth Lee Anderson, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Marshfield, MO, May 22, 1931 the daughter of the late Dyer David Evans and Elsie Laura Augusta Richey. She was preceded in death by her sister Beverly Jean Evans. Betty was an Avon representative for over 20 years. She saw the beauty in everyone, inside and out. She was an active bridge player with "Betty's Bridge" for over 20 years and also enjoyed the company of her Mahjong group. During their marriage, she and her husband lived in many different places, including India, Japan and Taiwan. Whether in the U.S. or overseas, she embraced each location, its culture and especially the people she met. Betty made deep and lasting friendships with so many. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her love could always be felt with a smile, a touch and a laugh. Betty's beauty, strength and determination continues to be an inspiration to those that miss her dearly. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Laythe Anderson, her son Gregory Laythe Anderson of Wilmington, daughter Kimberly Gwen Anderson Raphael and husband Kent of Wichita, KS, four grandchildren, James Laythe Anderson II (Ashley), Gordon Murray Anderson (Jordan), Bradley Jacob Raphael (Angela), and Byron Samuel Raphael (Emily), and four great grandchildren, Lily Marie Anderson, Jacob Laythe Anderson, Alice Maybelline Raphael, and Justin Philip Raphael, also a sister Shirlene Alice Jones (Robert), and a nephew Duane M. Jones A celebration of her life will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Andrews Valley Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 PM.
