KENNETH LEE KYE Kenneth Lee Kye, born 3/10/1931 to Harvey Lee Kye and Sarah Enola Bell Kye in Winnabow, N.C. His parents predeceased him, as well as his brother, Carl L. Kye. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Wanda Gardner Kye and Sons Kendall L. Kye and Wife, Sheri, and Richard L. Kye and Wife, Alice, StepSon Joel and StepDaughter Olivia, his Sisters Mary Elizabeth Autry (Delbert), and Carol Yvonne Ruark (Charles). He was a member of Myrtle Grove Evangelical Presbyterian Church and for many years served as Treasurer of the Church and was on the board of Deacons. He also served the Myrtle Grove community as a volunteer Fireman at Myrtle Grove Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years. During his early life, he grew up working for his father in Kye Logging Company. Then, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1955 during the Korean Conflict. After returning home, he continued working in the logging business until his retirement in 1993. After he retired from Kye Logging Co., he worked for Costal Beverage Corp. until September 2014 when he stopped because of ill health. Since Sept. 2014, his health has continued to decline to the point of being cared for by Lower Cape Fear Hospice Home Care. He passed from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 1, 2018. A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Thanks for his care over the years go to Dr. John Lovett, Dr. William McNulty and the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Team. Donations may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice. No flowers.
