Thompson, Melvin "Ole" G. 78, Zimmerman, died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the Elim Care and Rehabilitation Center, Princeton. Melvin "Ole" Gene Thompson was born May 24, 1934, in Anoka, MN, the son of Milton and Agnes (Weinhold) Thompson. On August 7, 1954, Melvin and Jean Reineccius were united in marriage at Cambridge Lutheran Church. He was a lifelong employee at Hoffman Engineering managing the tool crib. His laughter will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Jean, of 58 years; son, Dean Thompson; daughters, Shari (Steve) Germscheid, Diann Korus, and Colleen Thompson (Mark Benderski); 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Veronica Schmiege and Arlene (Roger) Huntley; brother-in-law, Lloyd Gerth; sisters-in-law, Ione Rose and Marge (Bill) Palmer, and many other loving relatives and friends. Celebration of Life: Zimmerman Legion Post 560 from 5 until 8 PM Monday, October 15. Memorial Service: 2 PM Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the Elim Care and Rehabilitation Center Chapel, 701 1st Street, Princeton, MN, with sharing time one hour prior to the service.
