Dorff, Shirley Roux Daughter of William Roux and Azelie Boury Roux, born Feb. 21, in Rice Lake Wis. Lived in Eau Claire, Wis. and Mpls, graduated St. Mar- garet's Acadamy 1939, married Kenneth C. Dorff, 1942. Entered eternal life on Jan. 4, 2007. Cherished hub of her family, a kind, funny, tenderhearted woman. One of the founding mothers of the Special Needs Program, and a cheerleader for the prayer and action of St. Stephen's. She left us a careful list of those she leaves, and those she now rejoins. Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth C. Dorff; infant son and son, William Roux Dorff. Survived by children, James Dorff (Diane), Marilyn Luedtke (Richard), John Dorff (James Chesterman), Kevin Dorff; grandchildren, Joel Luedtke (Emily Dyer), Sarah Luedtke Jones (David Jones), Daniel Luedtke, Molly Archibald (Geoffrey), Amy Gretz (Michael), Charlie Dorff, Audrey Smith (Tyler) and Analiese Dorff; grand- babies, Sophia Gretz, Estella Jones, Vivian Jones, Elijah Dyer Luedtke; sister, Beverly Culbert; nieces, Mary Fjelstad, Shirley Resch; nephews, James Culbert, David Grill. Funeral Service 11 AM Tues. 1/9/07 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 2211 Clinton Ave., Mpls. With visitation one hour prior to service. Interment Crystal Lake Cemetery. My deepest sympathy for Jack, Jim and his family...I know how much Jack was concerned about his Mom and her wellness and happiness over the years. How fortunate to have had the joy and love of your Mom all these years; my Mom passed at the age of fifty five twenty six years ago and it seems like yesterday.
My heart and prayers go out to you and remember not to forget to smile....

I worked with Shirley at St. Ann's and enjoyed knowing her. She was funny, but serious about the work she did there. In the 70's, she was involved in developing services for people with disabilities. After she retired, she popped up at my bridal shower as a surprise, because she was so happy for me! She was a gracious and loving person. Condolences to her family, and also to Beryl and Julie, her close friends. These three were always together, and it will not seem quite right without Shirley there too. Maureen Merrill
