To all the Botten's,
I just found out today about Mike.Mike and all the Botten's were customers of mine at my gas station. They were also very good friends. Mike and I played golf together a number of times. What a gentle giant. He always had a smile on his face and was an absolute pleasure to be around. Patty and Joe you are in my families thoughts and prayers. Joe, if you can emulate your dad you will be a great success in life. Everybody who knew your dad loved him. He will be sorely missed.
All our love and prayers

I remember meeting Mike for the first and sadly, the only time, at Joe's graduation party. Such a proud father he was of his tall, handsome and smart son. We are thinking of you Pat and Joe.

We were saddened to learn of Mike's passing. We have many memories of Botts playing softball with "The House" team --fun, funny and most importantly fond. May you find comfort in your memories. Our thoughts are with you.

I remember looking at the church directory when my mom transferred her membership to M'haha Lutheran....it was at the "B's" that I paused, smiled and said to myself there is only ONE Mike Botten...the BEST DANCER in the class of Roosevelt '67...couldn't run fast enough to ask the church secretary if indeed he was such man...and sure enough...what a joy it was to know that he was alive, well, thriving and still in South Mpls....I am so sorry that such a fine and really nice fellow is gone...I am glad and grateful that I had the pleasure and privilege to laugh, be uplifted by and DANCE with Mike Botten....Jeanne Husing L'Heureux

To MIke's family,
Just a word from one of Mike's Roosevelt HS friends. In our dreams, we remain young and energetic and enjoying a fun mixer at the YMCA with Mike. It is easy to remember Mike's big grin beneath the thick lenses in his glasses. Watching him dance made us all feel cool - even those of us who really couldn't dance.
Sincere sympathy,

I have not been in touch with Mike since we graduated from Roosevelt. Many of the stories I relate of those years contain numerous mentions of him. As an initiation to our Hi Y group we made Mike sit on a stool in a large cardboard box wearing some strange get up and odd hat. Every few minutes he had to leave the box, climb a ladder, blow a horn, yell his name and say he wanted to join The Conciliatrix. Pretty tame by today's standards. Did I for get to mention this took place on the corner of 42nd and 28th right after school? Great guy. Sorry I missed out on his adult years.

Patty and Joe,
Wow, I am at a loss of words right now. After going through a year of losses myself this has brought all those emotions back up. I feel for you and know that you have the support of some great people, as you and your family are great people. I know that Mike is more comfortable and will be looking forward to seeing you again one day. Stay strong and take one day at a time. Your friend, always Patty. Wendy

It has been 42 years since I last saw Botts, a testimonial to the impression he left. Fun, gregarious and friendly with lots of positive energy. I hope life was kind to him while he was with us. My sympathies to those he left behind.

I have worked with Mike for 13 years at FEDEX. I will always remember when Mike talked and the Marine Corps and how his face would light up when I would show him a picture of my two kids and tell of the funny things they said and did. He would always say the same thing "thats great. Enjoy then now for they grow up so fast".
I will mis you Mike.

It has been years since I have seen Botts. I played countless games of softball and watched even more. Trips to Cleveland and up North when we were all younger. He always was looking for something different to do and was a charactor. Stories are endless and the good times have been missed for years. He was the one that gave me a nick name of "Beast" one morning, some people still only know me by that name. To the family I'm sorry to hear of your loss the world is a little less funny place without Botts around.
