I had the privilege to know Tamara in a professional capacity for over twenty years. Every time I saw or spoke with Tamara she was so warm, I felt like I was talking to a close personal friend. My heart goes out to her family and all who knew and loved her. The world is certainly less bright without her presence.

Those of us who worked with Tamara at People Incorporated, where she was on the board of directors, deeply grieve her loss and extend our sympathy to her family in particular---She persistently glowed when she talked about each of them. I was moved when Tamara made a decision to join our board of directors out of the large group of non-profit agencies that she had to choose from. She was eager to de-stigmatize mental illness and very committed to our mission. We are deeply saddened by her death.

My deepest sympathies to your family. Arriving at St. Olaf in the fall of October 2008, my only regret is that I didn't have more time to work with Tamara. She was everything a Human Resources professional seeks; smart and wise, confident and considerate, always with a sense of humor about our position. Bright lights stay with us always and I hope your family knows, for those of us who worked with Tamara, that was just what she was.

Tamara brought wisdom, care, and (appropriately) humor to each setting. Her warmth and kindness were evident in every situation and she was able to navigate through tough issues and needs -- providing excellent direction and wise counsel. Proverbs 31:10 (The Message) says, "A good woman is hard to find, and worth far more than diamonds." and later in the passage it says "When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say and she always says it kindly." These are true of Tamara. What an incredible loss her family, the team at Gray, Plant and Mooty, and all who knew her are feeling now. I hold you in prayer. I know her suffering is now exchanged for the glory and prize of Heaven with Christ Jesus, her Lord. She won!
