I was an assistant coach with the swimming programs and a TA at the University in the late 1970's. I had the pleasure of seeing George on a daily basis. He took pride in his work and was outstanding at what he did. He shared a smile with you every day. He had a great view of life and always had the bigger picture in mind. I always enjoyed our conversations. He is one of the kindest most respectful men I have ever had the pleasure to know. My condolences to the family. I know he will be deeply missed.

I swam for the University of Minnesota mens team in the early '80s and had the great pleasure of meeting George. He was an absolute professional in every sense of the word when it came to maintaining our facilities. Although the pools were 50 years old at that time, George always made sure that our water was crystal clear and everything was in tip top shape for the athletes. I have not met a nicer man. R.I.P. George.
