Abbott, David R. of Atlanta, GA/Bloomington, MN. Born January 20, 1953 in Anchorage, Alaska. Graduate of St. Thomas Academy and Lewis University. Flight Dispatcher for North Central, Republic, Northwest, and Delta Airlines for 37 years. Survived by wife, Linda; mother, Lois; sons, Kevin (Megan) & Daniel; step-daughters, Sandi and Gina; brothers, Dan (Alex) and Mike (Becky); grandson, Jack; and many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by father, Don. Memorial service in Atlanta, Sept. 14, 2012. Funeral Service, St. Peters Catholic Church, 6730 Nicollet Ave. So., Richfield, MN, Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012 at 10:30. Irish wake at David Fongs Restaurant, Bloomington Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. (Casual).

I regret your loss. I first met David shortly after the NWA and Republic merger and felt I had know him for years. I had known Lois and Don for 20 years, and worked for Don as a second officer instructor for over half that time. Dave and I hit it off well, and every time we ran into each other we stopped to catch up. He was professional in his approach to his job, and eager to help with any task that I asked for help on. Dave Abbott was a "Good Guy."

Brother Dave:
Dave always had a nick name for everybody.this was my nick name for him.so sorry to see him go at such a young age...Jesus said in his fathers house he prepared a place for us. Brother Dave lives there now,no more pain no more sorrow...
