I was privileged to fly the 707/320 as F/O and S/O on Don's crew many times in my early years at NW. He was the consummate pilot, gentleman and friend. I learned many lessons from him, both related to flying and in the way he treated his crew and passengers. May he rest in peace.

Fran and I extend our deepest condolences to Don's family. Don was an exceptional pilot, a credit to himself and Northwest Airlines. His friendship will be remembered by all who were privileged to know him.

I can tell you one thing we have lost one of our best. One of my first actual flights as a NWA Flight crew member was with Don and I was a nervous wreck but thanks to his wonderful help he had me calmed down in a few and taught me how to enjoy the best career anyone can ever hope to have. I always looked forward at bidding to find his trip was still available. My sincere condolences to all his Family he will be missed.
