Mary Alice Weld

Weld, Mary Alice of Minnetonka. Age 76. She passed away July 29, 2013. Born in Duluth, MN. Preceded in death by parents, Henning and Goodway Pet- erson; brother, John Henning Peterson and sister Joyce Olson. Survived by best friend and husband of 54 years, Jerry Weld; sister, Iris Larson; children, David and Patrick (Heidi); grandchildren Carly, Sam and Lucy. Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother and a dear and loyal friend to many. She was active in the church and choir at Gethsemane Lutheran in Hopkins. Mary's deepest impact on the community came from being a creator of wonderful stuffed animals and puppets, but most notably teddy bears. The many smiles brought to the faces of excited kids and thankful parents demonstrated the true measure of her talent. Made with a loving hand, her bears are allowing her creative excellence to endure throughout the years to new generations. She will always be remembered fondly for her loving kindness and generosity to all.
