WHat a shock to look up Darrell's name and find his obituary. I was a childhood friend of Darrell's at Franklin School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Darrell was a wonderful and caring individual. I am sad but happy to know that he finally had "family", My deepest sympathy goes out to them. Francie Dixon Martin

Darrell: Our family is very blessed to have connected with you through Boy Scouts. You are a very kind and understanding man. Both of my boys really looked up to you. You are a great leader and It is My Pleasure to have met you and spend time with you in scouting. Your life stories reflect your duty to your Family and our country. Thanks for everything! Darrell, you had a great sense of humor and a lot of patience to put up with me at Many Point Scout camp. Keep the campfire going and watch for us.
To Renee and family: Our prayers are with you and don't hesitate to contact us if you need help with anything.
Love, Michael (Anne, Sam, James)

Darrell,
Your freindship and knowledge will be truly missed. The things we learned from you at the shop will be truly charished and passed on so in that way you will be remembered for generations to come. Thank you for all your help and encouragement, we would not be who we are today without your help and technical expertise. We will miss you,

Darrell, you will always be my true hero. You were like a dad to me. You provided me with skill, tools, work ethic, and knowledge that will carry with me as long as I am on this earth. More important, lessons and life experience that will remain with me forever. You took me under your wing when nobody cared. You understood me when no one would listen. You guided me when all others gave up. For that, I can't thank you enough. There is a special place waiting for you up above... and I hope to see you there someday.
To Renee and family: I think you all know how much Darrell means to me, and I know how very special he was to you as well. I am very sorry for your loss. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for him in his time of need.
Love you Darrell. Later.
