Hirsch, Doris 60, of Minneapolis, MN died on August 28, 2010. She was born on Sept. 10, 1949 in Dubuque, IA, daughter of Alfred and Mary Hirsch. She graduated from Wahlert High School in 1967 and the U of Iowa in 1971. Doris worked for advertising agencies in Minneapolis (Vanguard) and New York City (Grey), Doubleday Publishing in NYC, and at Macy's in Minneapolis. Surviving are her mother; her brothers, Wayne (Cathie) of Minneapolis, Terrence (Lois) of Dubuque, Kevin (Kristin) of Johnson Creek, WI, Alan of Seattle, WA, Michael (Sandra) of Iowa City; and sisters, Ann (Gene Link) of Edina and Jane (Todd Kiebler) of Dubuque; a sister-in-law Kathy Nolan of Iowa City, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and brother, William. The family would like to thank the staff of U of M Fairview ICU for the care given Doris. Private family services. I am so sorry about your loss. I too worked with Doris at Macys. I will miss her morning phone call to me..."Hi there" she would say. We talked about waffles recipes, football, court tv and family. I will miss waving to her from afar when seeing her down the isle walking her cute little strut back and forth helping customers. I think about her everyday and will miss her terribly. I will always remember my friend.

I was so sorry to hear about Doris. I worked with her at Macy's and she made my daughter-to-be (at the time) a beautiful handmade gift. I am so glad that on the day I brought my new daughter to work; that Doris got to meet her. May your memories of Doris and the knowledge that she touched so many people's lives get you through this difficult time. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

I was so sorry to hear of Doris' passing. She brought so much joy to those of us who worked at Macy's and those who were her customers. She gave her smile and light to all of us. I am one of many at Macy's who will miss her. May you receive peace and strength during this difficult time.
