Florence Heer Obituary

Heer, Florence Age 86, passed away at Waverly Gardens, North Oaks on October 24, 2010. She was born November 13, 1923 in Browntown, WI to storekeepers Ben and Sadie Maddrell. After graduating from Monroe High School, Florence moved to Minneapolis and became a secretary at Pioneer Engineering. She was married to Ralph Heer in 1943 until his passing 53 years later. Florence is preceded in death by her brother, Elwin. She is survived by sister, Maxine; children, Terry Heer and Jan Deakman, Jan's husband Ken and two grandchildren, Lauren Deakman (husband Nolan Salzmann) and Alex Deakman. A celebration of Florence's life will be held at Waverly Gardens, 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks, on Saturday, November 6, 2010. A service will begin at 1 PM, followed by a gathering of friends and family. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

I meet Florence almost 52 years ago. My family moved from North Dakota to St. Paul. Jan was in my 3rd grade class and we became best friends. Florence was my was 2nd mom. I learned so much from her. She was always on the move. Either working in the house or outside or going. She always meet Jan and I at the State Fair and she took us to the Aquataenial Parade every year, too. Her Christmas card was always the first to arrive and I loved to get caught up on her year.
I will miss her warmth, her caring, her sharing, her love and her laugh. Love Georgia (PIerson) Thompson
