John Heines Obituary

Heines, John C. 91, died peacefully in Scottsdale, AZ on March 14, 2008. He was born June 5, 1916 in Holland, Michigan to John and Rose Heines. He graduated from West High School in Mpls. in 1934. He was President/Treasurer of Heines Publishing Co. and a sales associate with Flour City Paper Box. He was active in Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, Mpls. Community Fund (United Way), the Mpls. Advertising Club, Mpls. Aquatennial and a member of Mpls. Golf Club for many years. He and his wife retired to Scottsdale in 1979. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Harriet, to whom he was married for 59 years. Together they had four children: Carol Giovan (Peter) of Scottsdale, Nancy Pederson (Ted) of Breezy Point, MN, Gary Heines of Mound, MN, and MiMi Heines (Jim Humphrey) of Keller, TX. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Pamela Bennett, Scott Albers, Wendy McDowell, Heidi Petry, Angie Albert, and Gary Heines Jr.; as well as eight great grandchildren. In celebration of their life together, a memorial service for John and Harriet will be held in Mpls. at a later date. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olivet's Cathedral of the Pines Camp or donor's choice. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Messinger Mortuary.
