"Oh, throb, throb, I'm having an art
history heartache."

What Patti wrote goes for me too. Dr. Bob was a uniquely gifted teacher who brought art history to life with his humor, enthusiasm, and knowledge. As an undergrad student, I always looked forward to his entertaining and informative classes. I don't think there were many professors who could keep a lecture hall full of college student – not only awake, but captivated – the way Dr. Bob did.

To all his loved ones, all my sympathy.
It was a great privilege to have been his student and I cherish my memories of him.

Dr. Bob, or as we affectionately called him at CSU, the Silver Fox, was a treasure. He inspired me to go forth into art history and today when I teach I always have him in my mind and heart. He was elegant, wickedly articulate, extremely knowledgeable and above all, a kind man. We stayed in touch always, and I was looking forward to seeing him next March when I will be in Minneapolis. I will dedicate my coming school year to his memory. My condolences to his family and friends. Thank you, Silver Fox, for changing my life. You were and are loved, and I miss you.
