Zimering, Ruben Age 89, of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2012. Ruben was the beloved husband of Dr. Sabina Zimering, for 62 years. He was the loving father of Dr. Rose Zimering and husband Dr. Jeffrey Knight, Brookline, MA, Dr. Mark Zimering and wife Laurie, Basking Ridge, NJ, and Bonnie and husband John Bottoms, Minnetonka, MN. Ruben was the proud grandfather of Yvette and Jeff Zimering, Phoebe and Billy Bottoms and Arielle and Tyler Knight. He was the loyal brother-in-law to Nathan Schwartz and Helen Bigos. Ruben's life was guided by deter- mination and courage. He was a brilliant student and gifted athlete while growing up in Dubno, Poland. After fighting in WWII, surviving the Holocaust and losing his family, he got his engineering degree in Munich, Germany, immigrated to the US in 1949, and got his Master's degree from the U of M. He was head of the Relay Dept. at NSP for 40 years, never missed a day of work, and successfully ran a business. Above all, his greatest achievement was that of husband and father, devoting himself completely to his family. His values of dedication, fairness, honesty, and humility guided his life and family. Funeral Service Wednesday, January 18th at 11 AM, at BET SHALOM CONGREGATION, 13613 Orchard Road, Mtka. SHIVA Weds., 7 PM at 2040 Utah Ave So., St. Louis Park. and Thurs. 7 PM at 13442 Larkin Circle, Mtka. Donations can be made in Ruben's honor to the Minneapolis Jewish Federation.
