As an undergrad and all through the years subsequent, an encounter with Lee was always met with gracious inquiries as to how I was doing. One of a kind in talent and caring. His presence will be missed.

To Mary Sue and Family,
Lee directed "Androcles and the Lion" at Apple Valley High School in the mid-90's. He was a wonderful director- full of spirit and good laughs. He helped me face my fear of singing by myself to an audience! I'm very grateful to have worked with such a well-respected and dedicated man of the arts.

God bless,
"The Lion"

Lee directed me in THE BAT on the showboat in the summer of 1987. I have so many fond memories of his humor and easy-going way with us, not to mention all the times he brought beer and hung out with us. He was not only our director and fearless leader, but our mentor and friend. Lee was well-loved and respected by so many and news of his passing makes me wish I had stayed in closer touch over the years.

I will miss seeing Lee at Balsam Lake. I have many wonderful memories of him teaching his boys to hunt and fish and his pride when they were able to bag something. I even experienced my first goose hunt with he and his son. I enjoyed their camaraderie as they tried to teach me how to hunt geese. I will think of him often and expecially while I'm at the lake.

I first met Lee at the U of M in 1964, and he was my thesis advisor for my MA in tech theater. Great guy and a terrific teacher. May he rest in peace.

Lee was my college undergrad adviser, my director at the Stagecoach, a mentor and most particularly a very dear friend. Lee had the unusual ability to make everyone feel special and heard. He was a wonderful storyteller with a keen sense of humor. I'll miss his laugh, his knowledge and his ability to love so many of us.

Well spoken, Robin, eldest Adey son. A most appropriate way to begin this Guest Book and so well stated it is clear that Dad's influence and teaching did indeed prove to be a gift to you.
There are so many wonderful memories and moments that Dad gave to me, I am unable to define just one - except for the most precious gift of all - my siblings, who I love dearly. Above all else Dad loved family, and I know he is with us still. This knowledge will help through the sadness even though I will miss him every day for the rest of my life.

While our family is not as vast as many, Lee leaves behind a large number of people that will truly miss him. A dedicated man of education, he devoted his life to an academic calling and aided his students with education and commitment. He became something of a legend in his endeavor.
He was a strong father and impressed the benefits of learning on his children. His greatest gift to me was a sense of humor and the wherewithal to continue on despite obstacles. "If you're going to do a job, do it well. Why else do it?" This has become a mantra in my life.
I'd have liked to have visited with him more but time, distance and profession force other choices upon us and we must answer those demands.
My sympathies to those others close to him but remember that he had a rewarding life and we must all answer the final, inevitable call. He is now rid of any age/health related restrictions and able to continue on unbound. He will remain in our memories.
