Jackson, Dr. Peter Eric 62 of Burnsville, passed away at home on Aug. 3, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; his sister, Maritza (Nick) Simpson of Suffolk, UK; as well as three nieces and their families. Born in Bridgetown, Barbados, and raised in Nottingham, England, Peter received his PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Leeds University, UK. He taught at Edinburgh University, Scotland, and Clarkson University in New York. Most recently, he served as Chief Scientist and Vice President R&D for Thomson Reuters. Peter was a published author, dedicated musician, member of the SPCO Board, and lover of animals, especially the family dogs. A Celebration of Peter's Life will be held at The Music Room at the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra Center, the Hamm Building, 408 Saint Peter St. in Saint Paul on August 22. The program will start at 3 PM, with guests welcomed beginning at 2 PM. Memorial donations can be made to MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis, designated for the Peter Jackson Scholarship for Keyboard and Guitar.
