Kerssen, Virginia B. (Rico) Age 86, of Eden Prairie, passed away May 8th, 2012. Preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Carmen Rico; sisters, Teresa Ward and Violet Arnold; brothers, Michael, Joseph, and Patrick Rico. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Virginia was born and lived on the Iron Range. In 1943 she moved to Minneapolis, taking a job at the Park Nicollet Clinic where she worked until her children were born. Virginia later worked at Metropolitan Medical Center and the State of Minnesota Department of Weights and Measures, she retired in 1986. Virginia was active in 4H and an accomplished baker, her talent in bread baking won her a blue ribbon at the MN State Fair. Virginia left a positive mark on many people's lives, always willing to help and comfort people. She was an active volunteer at The Prop Shop of Eden Prairie along with many other organizations. She is survived by son, Scott Kerssen; daughter, Barbara Mord (Mitch); grandchildren, Anthony Kerssen, Megan Kerssen, and Aaron Larson; Nicole, Jesse and Travis Mord; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Celebration of Life service, Monday May 14th, 2012, 4 PM at Summit Place Senior Campus, 8505 Flying Cloud Drive, Eden Prairie, MN. Memorials preferred to The Prop Shop of Eden Prairie.
