Podas, Nancy Lincoln Nancy was born to Margaret and Reece Newport on February 12, 1919 in St. Paul, MN. She was caring eldest sister to cherished Eliza ("Betsy"), Richard ("Sonny"), and Cynthia ("Sally"), each of whom preceded her in death. A graduate of Central High school, she attended The College of St. Catherine prior to joining Economics Laboratory in 1939 where she met the love of her life, William (Bill) Podas. Married in 1942, theirs was a love that flourished over 56 years until Bill's death in 1998. In their life together, they traveled the world, celebrated family and friends, and loved their community. Nancy is survived by her daughters Cynthia Newport and Christine Podas-Larson (Kent Larson), granddaughters Jennifer, Linnea, Marguerite, Molly, and Christina, three great-grandsons, and her canine soul-mate Glory. Nancy's was a life of grace, dignity and spirit. Always an avid gardener, she cultivated friendships throughout her life. Her gifts to the community included service on the Lilydale Planning Commission, Schubert Club Board of Directors, and membership in The Colonial Dames of America, Dance Club and the "TOB-ies". Great thanks to Molly Larson, Sue Shepard and the staff of Carondelet Village for their loving care of Nancy. Memorial service at Carondelet Village Chapel on the campus of The University of St. Catherine, 525 Fairview Avenue South, St. Paul, MN 55116 Tuesday, October 9, 11:30 AM preceded by Visitation at 10:30 AM.
