Hofstedt, Ardell Age 78 of St. Louis Park, MN, died peacefully October 5 at St. Therese of New Hope with family by her side. Survived by Ron, her husband of 56 years; children, Jolyn (Roger) Horton, Scott (Julie) and Mitchell (Kristine); grandchildren, Christopher, Jeremy, Kerry, Carly, Ryan, Kayla and Sam; and sister, Jean (Lupkes) Meyer. Preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Leona Lupkes. She was born on a farm in Grant County, MN and attended a one-room school through 8th grade, becoming a MN State Spelling Champion during those years. She graduated from Moorhead State University, and then influenced many lives for over 30 years as a Special Education teacher in the St. Louis Park School system. Ardell loved people and made friends with everyone who crossed her path. She had a passion for learning that she passed on to generations of students and family. She had an infectious laugh, and was an eternal optimist, largely due to her deep faith; the belief that her life was securely in the hands of her God.
