Balazs, Ronald D. Passed away on September 17. He was born in Astoria, Long Island, New York. He was a Scholarship Student at the Julliard School of Music, studying with Ivan Galamian. In 1950 Ron became a member of the Longines Symphonette. Later that year he entered the U.S. Air Force. In 1953 Ron became the assistant Concertmaster of the Florida Symphony. In 1954 he joined the Minnesota Orchestra (then known as the Minneapolis Symphony). In addition to being a Violinist in the Orchestra for thrity-nine years, he was also the Personal Manager for the last twenty- nine years. After retiring to Sarasota, Florida in 1993, he became a member of the Florida West Coast Symphony, where he performed for fifteen years. He is survived by his wife, Jan; and sons, David and Loren.
