Maki, Karen A. age 65, of Hopkins and South Minneapolis, passed away October 1, 2012. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Mark and Stephen, and parents, Ann and Leonard. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Stephanie, cherished cousins and aunts, and many, many dear friends. Karen graduated from Hopkins H.S. in1965, and attended the University of Minnesota. Her career consisted of commitment to the Minnesota company, Dayton's, until she retired under Macy's in 2007. Karen's life was encompassed with giving. She gave life. Her house was the hub for holidays for her family of cousins and friends. She volunteered at the library after retirement. Her lifetime of playing the clarinet in community bands was a way she enjoyed giving the most. We will miss her fun- loving nature, infectious smile, and devotion to her Minnesota sports teams.
