Hromatka, Esther Age 87, of Hopkins, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on November 2, 2012. Born on January 8, 1925 in New Prague, MN, she spent all of her adult life in the Hopkins area raising a family with her beloved husband Joe of 60 plus years. Esther was a woman with high standards who believed any job worth doing was worth doing well. She was an accomplished seamstress, cook and gardener who took pride in her family and community. While she found great satisfaction in running a home, she held numerous part time jobs over the years which showcased her many talents. Esther's faith played a major role in her life. She was an active parishioner at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, involved in numerous guilds and the parish council. She also was an active resident at St Therese Southwest Community until her final days. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe and is survived by her children, Joe, Nancy, John, Jerry, Mary, and Jay and their spouses; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Tuesday evening Nov. 6 at Hopkins Chapel and one hour before the Mass on Wed. at the church.
