Dufresne, Daniel A. Passed away peacefully in Ventura, Calif., on Dec. 10 at age 85 after a long illness. His wife of 62 years, Terese, and other family members were at his side. Dan is survived by his wife, nine children and their spouses, 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, two older brothers and a sister, and many other relatives and friends. Born in Minneapolis, Dan was the youngest of seven children. He graduated in 1945 from Cretin High School, St. Paul, and served in the U.S. Army in the Philippines from 1946 to 1948, attended the College of St. Thomas on the GI Bill and graduated with a degree in geophysics. He and Terese Ann Green were married in St. Paul in 1950, and they raised nine children. Dan's job doing oil exploration for Texaco moved the family 28 times. He retired in 1986 in Ventura. As a parishioner for 45 years at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, he was a lector and Eucharistic Minister and a volunteer with Catholic Charities until suffering a stroke in 2002. Funeral Mass 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Ventura. Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Santa Clara Cemetery, Oxnard, with military honors. Memorials to donor's choice.
