Resnick, Helen age 87, of Detroit and Minneapolis, died peacefully at home, December 14, 2012 surrounded by family. She was a social worker with Jewish Family Services in Detroit, serving Russian immigrants, conducting Yiddish-speaking support groups. She received her BA and MSW from Wayne State University. She was the beloved spouse of Sidney Resnick (deceased). Survived by her sons Robert Resnick (Gail Fisher) of Texas, Michael Resnick (Lyn Bearinger) of Minnesota; grandchildren, Ari Bearinger Resnick, Katie Eichten (Jeff Eichten); great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Joseph, and Natalie Eichten. Interment and memorial service will take place 11 am MONDAY, December 17 at the Ira Kaufman Chapel, Southfield, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sidney Resnick Cantorial Fund, Congregation Beth El, 2525 Mark Ave, Windsor, Ontario, Canada N9E2W2, Books for Africa, or the ACLU.
