Day, Kenneth Alan, Sr. Passed away December 26, 2012, he was born on February 1, 1938 in Burnsville, MN. Ken wore many hats in his lifetime through work, rescue and travel. After leaving high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy for a two year stint and then started working for Burnsville Township in Dakota County. He became the constable for the township and when a neighboring community tried to annex the Black Dog Electrical plant, he was appointed Chief of Police for the newly formed Burnsville. He remained in that position from November of 1962 to 1964 and was an influential leader in saving the Black Dog plant for the Burnsville jurisdiction. From there he became very well known in the equestrian world as a championship trainer, and outstanding farrier specializing in corrective shoeing and a master in showmanship. Survived by children, Daniel W., Kenneth R., Debra S., and Kenneth A. Day Jr., also by beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other loving relatives & friends. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Highview Lutheran Church, 26690 Highview Ave., Farmington, MN, with visitation 1 hour prior to service at church.
