Proehl, James Richard "Dick" age 76, of Bloomington, on November 7, 2006. Dick served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954 and graduated from St. Olaf College. He was an Industrial Engineer and Executive with Dayton Hudson Corp, Fingerhut, Maple Plain Co and Young America Corp. Dick also established J.R. Proehl Associates and consulted for Ernst & Whinney. He was an accomplished musician and commercial pilot. Dick loved traveling, fishing and water sports with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed family gatherings, sports and flying RC airplanes. Preceded in death by parents, Herbert and Ruby (Hendrickson) Proehl and brother, Robert Proehl. Survived by wife of 53 years, Darlene; children, Dawn (Wayne) Shimer; Richard (Barbara) Proehl and Laurie Proehl (Dan Nevers); grandchildren, Vicki (Steffen) Hagle and Mandi Proehl (Nick Del Rio, fiancé); great-grandchildren, Tate & Lane Hagle; brother Craig (Joni) Proehl; sister-in-law, Joan Proehl and many other loving relatives, friends and business associates. Memorial Service Saturday 1 PM at Christ The King Church (8600 Fremont Ave S., Bloomington. Private Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to University of MN Foundation, Diabetes Research. Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Chapel 952-941-7686
