Bowers, Ms. Jackie - Statesboro  
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Ms. Jackie Bowers, age 58, passed into rest Monday, July 27, 2015, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Bulloch County native was a member of the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a dedicated usher. Ms. Bowers was a former employee of Georgia Southern University and a graduate of Statesboro High School. She leaves memories to be forever cherished by her father, Deacon Willie Ben (Beatrice) Bowers, Statesboro, Ga.; her mother, Naomi Campbell, Statesboro, Ga.; a sister, Willie Glenn Bowers, Tulsa, Okla.; brothers, Manzy Bowers, Leman Bowers and Bennie Earl (April) Bowers, all of Statesboro, Ga.; an uncle, Emory Long, New York, N.Y.; an aunt, Carolyn Benton, Sylvania, G.; six nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Ms. Bowers will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Spring Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregory Thomas, pastor, officiating. Brown, Mrs. Patricia "Pat" (Bragg)  
Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Bragg Brown, age 64, died on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a retired certified nursing assistant. She worked at St. Joseph's Home Health for 18 years and for Ogeechee Area Hospice for over 10 years. She was the "glue" that kept the family together. She took care of everyone she knew. She was a member of the Aaron Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Lloyd Brown. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Keith McLeod of Millen; two sons and daughters–in-law, Bobby and Martha Brown of Portal and Johnny and Jessica Brown of Millen; five grandchildren, Derek McLeod, Amber Greenway and husband, T.J.; Madison Brown, Will Brown and Brianna Brown; two great-grandchildren, Brylie Ann Greenway and Brodie Lynn Greenway; a brother and sister-in-law, Wendell and Lucy Bragg of Deer Park, Texas; nieces and a nephew, Adrienne and Matt Hill, Andy Jackson, Penny Jackson and Jenny Jackson; her spiritual sister, Geneva Thompson; and her beloved dogs, Pee Wee and Taz. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Aaron Church of God with the Rev. Roy Jarriel officiating, assisted by the Rev. Burnon Jarriel and the Rev. Lawrence Jarriel. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be West Clark, Pat Clark, Stevie Thomas, Andy Jackson, Chris Berry and Charles Oglesby. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Bryant, Mr. L.J. - Pembroke  
Mr. L.J. Bryant, age 68, of Pembroke, Ga., passed peacefully on Wednesday evening, July 29th, at his residence under the professional care of Hospice Savannah. He was a Bryan county native and was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the St. John A.M.E. Church of Pembroke, Ga. He is survived by his loving son, Mr. Leon Bryant of Pelham, Ga.; his loving sisters, Ms. Mary Bryant and Mrs. Faye Kelly, both of Pembroke, Ga., Mrs. Deloris Vann (Craig) of Bloomingdale, Ga., Mrs. Lauretta Miller (James) of Meldrim, Ga.; his loving brothers, Mr. Randy Bryant of Albany, Ga., and Mr. Charles Bryant of Savannah, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends. Viewing for Mr. L.J. Bryant will be held Friday, July 31, 2015, from 2-8 p.m. in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Pembroke Chapel. The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. L.J. Bryant will be Saturday, August 1, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. John A.M.E. Church, Benton Street, Pembroke, Ga., with the Rev. George Bush, pastor. Barnes, Ms. Barbara Ann (Black) - Statesboro  
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Ms. Barbara Ann Black Barnes, age 67, died Monday morning at her residence in Statesboro under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. Born in Montgomery County, she moved to Hazlehurst at the age of 13. She married in 1968 and made Statesboro her home. In 1991, Barbara moved to Wilmington Island, where she lived for 20 years. She returned to Statesboro, where she lived until her death. Barbara worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years and was employed with Liberty National and State Farm. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris Franklin Black and Ida Mae Gillis Black. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Robert Gary Barnes Jr. and Penny of London, Kentucky; and a sister, Hellen Kersey of Jackson, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro followed by a memorial service. The Rev. Joan Killian, Pastor John Love and Frank Stephens will officiate. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
