Dunn, Nancy Faye (Turner) - Statesboro  
Nancy Faye Turner Dunn, 62, of Statesboro, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Ogeechee Area Hospice. Nancy was a veteran of the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of sergeant. She graduated from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor's degree in history. She was also a substitute teacher with the Bulloch County Board of Education. Nancy was a very active member of Langston United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Group. She was also a volunteer with ACTS. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Turner Sr. and Maxie Miles Turner. She is survived by a son, Justin Evans Dunn; and daughters, Felicia Cora Lee Dunn and Tara Elizabeth Dunn Ofray. Also surviving is one brother, Alvin Turner Jr.; and a sister, Judy Kuhns. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at the church. The funeral will be held Friday, May 13, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Langston United Methodist Church. Fowler, Sarah (Hagan) - Brooklet  
Sarah Hagan Fowler, age 89, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016, at Ogeechee Area Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Fowler was born in Bulloch County and attended Esler and Nevils schools. Sarah married Leonard Garnett Fowler on May 22, 1945, and then moved to Winter Haven, Fla., where they lived for 66 years before returning to Bulloch County to be closer to their family in April 2011. While in Winter Haven, Sarah worked for many years as a cafeteria worker with the Polk County Board of Education and was a member of the Inman Park Baptist Church. She currently was a member of Leefield Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, cooking and crocheting. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, John Daniel and Ellie Brewton Hagan; her brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and her loving and devoted husband of 69 years, Leonard Garnett Fowler. Mrs. Fowler is survived by her son, Richard Fowler, and his wife, Janice Sue, of Wildwood, Fla.; daughters, Janice Jones, and her husband, Gerald, of Brooklet; and Sandra Lancaster, and her husband, Charles, of Ellabell; seven grandchildren, Dean Jones (Sandy), Debbie Marotte (Mike), Alan Fowler (Stacy), Angela Ross, Scott Lancaster (Angie), John Lancaster (Angel), Michael Lancaster (Stacey); 14 great-grandchildren, Justin Marotte (Charlene), Whitney Fowler, Jessi Fowler, Amber Jones, Tyler Jones, Sophia Ross, Nicholas Lancaster (Kerstin), Brittany Lancaster, C.J. Lancaster, James Lancaster, Matthew Lancaster, Tristain Overmon, Sarah Lancaster and Lydia Lancaster; two great-great-grandchildren, Felix Lancaster and Landon "Little L.G." Marotte. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at Hodges-Moore Funeral home. The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Daniel Strickland and the Rev. Dan Bryant officiating. Harris, Mrs. Priscilla (Saxton) - Statesboro  
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Priscilla Saxton Harris, age 74, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Brown's Health and Rehabilitation in Statesboro. The Baxley, Ga., native lived in Metter until the age of 13, moving to Savannah, Ga. She attended Commercial High School. Residing in Savannah for most of her life, she lived in Atlanta for several years and moved to Statesboro 13 years ago. While in Savannah, Priscilla worked for the Chatham County Commissioners office for several years. She was of the Baptist faith. She spent many years renovating and flipping houses, always loving her construction projects. She was passionate about the care of animals and worked with several animal rescues. Some of her greatest joy was the time spent ballroom dancing and gardening. Surviving are her husband, Phil Harris of Statesboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Julie Harbuck-Harrell of Savannah and Gena and Bill Fonder of McDonough; a son and daughter-in-law, Rusty and Jennifer Harbuck of Metter; two grandchildren, R.J. Harbuck and Cody Harbuck, both of Metter; her former spouse, Henry Harbuck of Savannah; two sisters, Sandra Pearl Saxton of Rincon and Carolyn Stevens of Savannah and Metter; and a brother, Carl Saxton of Brooklet. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro. The funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. Charlie Cooper officiating. The graveside service and burial will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in Friendship Cemetery in Baxley, Georgia. Hodges, Johnny L. - Statesboro  
Johnny L. Hodges, age 73, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Candler Hospital in Savannah. Mr. Hodges was born in Statesboro and lived in Bluffton, S.C., for many years before moving back to Statesboro. Johnny was a 1961 graduate of Statesboro High School and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Johnny was a member of the Carolina Cruisers Classic Car Club and had worked as an Elvis impersonator. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Lamar and Ulmer Hodges; two wives, Ann Hodges and Becky Hodges; and his brother, Jimmy Hodges. Johnny is survived by his wife of 13 years, Nancy Ann Dipolito Hodges of Statesboro; sons, Lance Hodges, and his wife, Donna, of Statesboro; Greg Hodges of Register, Shawn Hodges, and his wife, Jennifer, of Brooklet; and Ashley Hodges, and his wife, Delaine, of Hoover, Ala.; sister, Ann Stewart, and her husband, Donald, of Russellville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Brandi Harvey, Brad Hodges, Dustin Hodges, Jessie Hodges, Cassie Hodges, Jackson Hodges and Abbie Hodges; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Zoe Harvey; several nieces and nephews. Mandy Hannah Hulsey, age 34, of Griffin, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at her residence. Mandy was born in Warner Robins, Georgia, on January 5, 1982. Mrs. Hulsey was preceded in death by son, Flint Cruse Jones; and husband, Phillip Wesley "Wes" Hulsey. She was employed by Peachtree Vascular Specialist. Mandy was a loving mom who loved life to the fullest. Survivors include daughter, Abbigail Hulsey; mother, Sandra Westberry; father, Randy Cruse, and spouse, Sharon; significant other, Luke Jones; brothers, Pete Cruse and Luke Cruse; stepsisters, Amy Gravley and Missy Nix; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends and loved ones. Mr. John Willie Johnson, age 75, passed away May 7th at his residence. He was a retired cable installer and a member of Simmons Branch Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving children, Trish (Javis) Mays and John C. Kile Sr., Thomas "Tom" - Statesboro  
SYLVANIA, Ga. - Karl Thomas "Tom" Kile Sr., age 59, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. He was born in Nyack, N.Y., to the late John Wallace and Verna Lee Parker Kile. He worked in law enforcement for many years and was police chief in Register, Ga., until his retirement. He was a member of the Georgia Chief of Police Association and was of the Catholic faith. He was also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bobby Kile; and brothers John Terry Kile and Gary Kile. Survivors include his wife, Vera Victorovina Kile of Sylvania; sons and daughters-in-law Karl Thomas Jr. and Kari Kile of Montgomery, Ala., James Allen and Kim Kile of Bloomingdale, Ga., William T. and Jennie Kile of Newington, Ga., and John and Kim Kile of Clarksville, Tenn.; stepsons and daughters-in-law Yuri and Diana Andreev of Savannah, Ga., and Constantin and Eugenia Karuzin of Russia; sisters and brothers-in-law Linda K. Marcum, Mr. Clifford Douglas - Brooklet  
BROOKLET, Ga. -- Mr. Clifford Douglas Marcum, age 48, died on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The Indianapolis, Indiana, native, moved to Richmond Hill, Ga., at the age of 12. He was a member of the Georgia National Guard. Doug was a skilled craftsman with a career in welding. He worked for Custom Metals in Savannah and with MacAljon Metals for 16 years. He was a Georgia Salzburger descendant of many lines. Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Judie Marcum of Bloomingdale; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Clifford Aaron Marcum of Bloomingdale and Stephen Emry and Cynthia Marcum of Guyton; five grandchildren, Ashton Lamkin, Ashley Marcum, Allen Lombr, Madison Lombr and Bricelynn Marcum; a sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Roger Wentz of Statesboro; a nephew, Adam Wentz; and a bother-in-law, Daniel Pridgeon of Rincon, Ga. Miller Jr., Mr. George Harold "PA" - Statesboro  
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. George Harold "PA" Miller Jr., age 74, died on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1961 graduate of Statesboro High School. Mr. Miller was a farmer, woodworker and truck driver. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting and with his family. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Cindy Miller; three grandsons, Ivey Miller, Tyler Miller and Jordan Miller; two great-grandsons, Aiden Miller and Ryder Miller, all of Statesboro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and B.L. Prosser of Statesboro and Peggy and Ricky Crane of Byron, Ga. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care given by the CCU nurses at East Georgia Regional Medical Center and Dr. Eli Penn. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-4 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory.
