STATESBORO, Ga. -- Carole Jean Patten NeSmith, 76, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2013, at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Ga. Daughter of the late Hall and Eula Mae Patten, Carole is preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Pat Lee and Pat Sharpe. Carole retired from the Georgia Southern University Library in 2000 after 35 years of service. She was a member of the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church and a hospice volunteer with Ogeechee Area Hospice for 15 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah NeSmith Mobley (Mark) of Savannah; two sons, David NeSmith (Michelle) of Statesboro and Douglas NeSmith (Cathy) of Monroe, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Ashley Mobley Waters (Scott), Blake NeSmith, Blayne Mobley, Kaylie NeSmith, Allie NeSmith and Abby Griffin; one great-grandchild, Everett Waters; special friend, Dean Arnett; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses, caregivers and staffs of Dr. Lisa Robinson and nurse Mandy Powell, Gentiva Home Health, Home Instead, Gentilly Gardens and Ogeechee Area Hospice for their outstanding care, friendship and support given to ""Miss Carole"".
A memorial service for Ms. NeSmith will Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at noon at Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 10-11:45 a.m. at the church.
