STATESBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Dolores Johnson Harris, age 74, died Friday January 31, 2014, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The Eastman, Georgia native moved to Statesboro where she graduated from Statesboro High School in 1957 and two years later graduated from Draughn's Business College in Savannah. Dolores began a 34 year career with Sea Island Bank, where she retired as a bookkeeper in 2002. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church where she was a member of the Jolly Christians and the Joy Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Trudie Allmond Johnson and a daughter, Leslie Kim Baumann.
Surviving are her husband, James R. Harris of Statesboro; two sons, Wesley R. Oglesby (Sharon) of Statesboro and Jay Harris of Alpharetta and a daughter, Michelle Morrison (Allen) of Brunswick; seven grandchildren, David Baumann (Tori) of Guyton, Lindsey Myrick (Bruce) of Ft. Rucker, Ala, Stephanie Smith of Statesboro, Kirsten Smith of Statesboro, Ashley Oglesby of Statesboro, Anna Morrison of Atlanta and Sara Morrison of Brunswick and one great grandson, Ashton Myrick of Ft. Rucker, Ala.
Visitation will be Saturday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Osborne, Dr. Bill Eller and Rev. Jim Rogers officiating.
Interment will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Linwood McNure, Jr., Floyd Leach, Greg Lewis, Dewayne Lewis, David Mathis and Bubba Fields.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, 4025 Friendship Church Road, Statesboro, Ga. 30458 or Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Ga. 30459.
