Mrs. Elizabeth (Brown) Woodcock

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Elizabeth Brown Woodcock, age 88, died Tuesday evening, March 4, 2014, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. The LaGrange, Georgia, native moved to Savannah, Georgia, as a young lady and married W.T. Woodcock in 1939. They moved to Forest Park, Ga. in the late 1960s and then to Bulloch County in 1976. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Woodcock was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Jolly Christians.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Woodcock; three sons, Thomas Gary Woodcock Sr., Freddy Lamar Woodcock and Charles "Chuck" Woodcock Sr.; and a granddaughter, Kelli Woodcock.
Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Glynda Woodcock of Newnan and Helen Woodcock of Ellabell; eight grandchildren, Tom Woodcock of Savannah, Jimmy (Lisa) Woodcock of Springfield, Ricky (Kimmie) Woodcock of Guyton, Chuck Woodcock of Savannah, Jeff (Lisa) Woodcock of Senoia, Christy Woodcock and Dean Hinely of Pooler, Steven Woodcock of Savannah and Nitie Woodcock of Ellabell; 12 great-grandchildren, Tiffany, Jimmy Jr., Will, Josh, Kayleigh, Kendall, Britny, Katie, Allison, Chelsy, Heather and Oliver; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred and Ann Brown of Savannah and Jack and Betty Brown of Richmond Hill; and a sister-in-law, Rita McDaniel of Statesboro.
Visitation will be Friday from 5- 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Osborne officiating.
The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Ga. 30459.
