Dr. Glenn Schelier Jennings

Dr. Glenn Schelier Jennings, 78, died Monday, January 6, 2014, in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah after a short illness.
Dr. Jennings was a native and lifelong resident of Statesboro. He was a 1953 graduate of Statesboro High School and was also a graduate of Emory University School of Dentistry. Dr. Jennings practiced dentistry for nearly 40 years in Statesboro, retiring in 2000. He volunteered his time and talents with Joseph's Home for Boys and Doctors Without Borders. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served from 1960 until 1972, obtaining the rank of captain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Schelier Jennings Sr. and Josephine Dieter Donaldson Jennings; and his wife, Mary Ruth Robertson Jennings.
He is survived by his friend and care giver, Augustine T. Wells of Statesboro.
Visitation will be held 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday, January 9, at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 9, in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry E. Bird officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.
