Hiram Earl Alderman

Mr. Hiram Earl Alderman, age 70, died Monday afternoon with his family by his side. The native of Bulloch County was owner and operator of Alderman's Gulf Station at the Statesboro Mall for 20 years. He was employed at the Rozier Ford Shop for several years and later became a driver and transporter of vehicles to different areas for Rozier Ford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Earl Sr. and Annie Lee Wren Alderman.
Survivors include Joyce Alderman of Garfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Ray Cowart of Millen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan and Patricia Alderman of Garfield, Rex and Cheryl Rigdon of Twin City and Royce and Annette Rigdon of Minot, N.D.; one sister, Jerry Lanigan of Portal; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with Ray "Bubba" Cowart and the Rev. Ben Gay officiating. Burial will be in the Portal City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Alderman, Burke Rigdon, Matthew Rigdon, Neil Rigdon, John Paul Johnson and Ron Cannady.
Hodges-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
