J.C. Humphrey

VIDALIA - Mr. J.C. Humphrey, age 82, of 1054 Blaxton Road, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, in the Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dublin after a brief illness.
He was a native of Montgomery County, living most of his life in Toombs County. He retired after 38 years of service from the Georgia Power Company and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operation. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was an avid gardener.
Mr. Humphrey is survived by his wife, Betty Blaxton Humphrey of Vidalia; one daughter, Cecilia Ashley of Tennille; one son, Phillip Alexander Humphrey of Statesboro; one grandson, Jarrod Alexander Humphrey of Statesboro; one brother, William Audrey Humphrey of Vidalia; one sister, Juanell McDonald of Vidalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. J.C. Humphrey will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Keith Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
