Jimmy O. Williams, 69, of Metter, died on April 1, 2014, at his residence. He was a retired business owner and lived in Metter for 55 years. He was a member of Cedar Street Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon. He attended Salem Baptist Church.
To have known him was to have loved him. When his children were growing up, his heart and home were always open to their friends and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston E. and Madge Roberson Williams; grandparents, J.H. and Ethel Williams; and a brother, Doug Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Sheppard Williams of Metter; sons, Micheal Williams, Travis (April) Williams and Shannon (Windy) Williams, all of Metter; daughter, Robin (Ashley) Scott of Metter; brothers, Thomas (Vickie) Williams and Jeff Williams, both of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Mary Frank (Glenn) Grimes of Swainsboro; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Cedar Street Baptist Church with burial in Lake Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Josh Williams, Caine Williams, Jacob Scott, Jordy Scott, Geoffrey Collins, Garrod Collins, Scott Fondern and Jason Fondern.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 3, 2014, from 6-9 p.m. at Cedar Street Baptist Church.
Wood Funeral Home of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
