STATESBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Loretta Akins Ingram Lust, age 70, died on Friday May 23, 2014 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Brooklet, GA native was a graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. Mrs. Lust lived in El Paso TX, Atlanta GA, and West Palm Beach, FL before moving back to Bulloch County in 2005. She worked with Simons Engineering in Decatur as an Executive Assistant and was a homemaker. Mrs. Lust loved all animals especially dogs and cared for many of them over the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by her parents Leahmon and Dollie Mae Akins and a sister Betty Neal.
Surviving are her husband of 21 years Lt. Col. U.S. Army (retired) Robert "Bob" Lust of Statesboro, GA; three sons and three daughters-in-law Stephen V. and Cathy Ingram of Statesboro, Karl and Michelle Lust of Charlotte, NC and Eric and Jaimie Lust of Snellville, GA; a daughter Lisa L. and Russ O'Quinn of Statesboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law Edwin and Danalyn Akins of Stilson, GA and Gilbert and Glenda Akins of Brooklet, GA; a sister Polly Johnson of Statesboro; seven grandchildren Stephanie Lee Ingram (fiancé Johnathon Skinner), Sophie Ann Ingram, Hope Ingram, Courtney Lee Cadle, Kelly Ellen Cadle, Matthew James Lust and Michael Jacob Lust; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5 until 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Elder Randy Waters officiating.
Inurnment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens Columbarium.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Bulloch County Humane Society, P.O. Box 581 Statesboro, GA 30459.
