Mr. Matthew L. Rogers

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Matthew L. Rogers, age 42, died Monday, March 3rd, at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson, Ariz. Matthew was born May 26th, 1971, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He spent much of his early life traveling with his parents around the country. He moved to Statesboro in 1984 and graduated from Statesboro High School in 1989. Following high school, Matthew attended Georgia Southern University as well as Ogeechee Technical College. He began working in restaurant management and later worked for EEC Contracting as an office manager. He was currently employed by AMT Corporate Interiors as an aircraft interior fabricator.
Matthew loved traveling with work, boating, camping, Astronomy, and also was in a dart league. He always left a lasting impression on those he came in contact with. He will be dearly missed by his loving family.
He is survived by his father, Daniel D. (Sheila) Rogers of Statesboro, Ga.; his mother, Nancy Nelson of Yorba Linda, Calif.; his son, W. Matthew Rogers of Statesboro, Ga.; his daughter, Madison Brooke Rogers of Grand Prairie, Texas; his brother, Scott Rogers of Statesboro, Ga.; and his two sisters, Jennifer (Jeff) Sorrell of Downingtown, Pa., and Jamie (Alex) Osorio of Yorba Linda, Calif.; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 15th, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Anderson officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice at P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459.
