Mrs. Mildred Oglesby Cain passed away Monday night at Golden Living Center –- Windermere in Augusta, Ga.
She was born in Sardis in 1928 to the late Fannie Lloyd Baxley and Alford Quinnie Oglesby. As a homemaker, while raising her family, she supported her husband in his farming.
She was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Waynesboro, Ga., and also at Bethel Brick United Methodist Church at Wade Plantation.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Perry Cain Sr.; her brothers, Paul M. Oglesby and E.J. Oglesby; and her sister, Marjorie Oglesby Moore Bonell.
Survivors include her children, W. Perry Cain Jr. of Girard, Ga., A. Clinton (Colleen) Cain of Evans, Ga., Mack R. (Jerene) Cain of Buford, Ga., Brian E. (Tammy) Cain of Girard, Ga., and George A. Cain of Martinez, Ga.; a sister, Nancy Oglesby Sikes Law of Augusta, Ga.; her grandchildren, E. Clinton (Shauny) Cain of Atlanta, Ga., Travis C. (Jessica) Cain of Evans, Ga., William Parker Cain of Atlanta, Ga., Erin M. Cain of Atlanta, Ga., Macrae Cain (Rocio) of Atlanta, Ga., Bianca C. and Justin Johnson of Grovetown, Ga., and Mira Cain of Girard, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Charles Perry Cain and Caleb Andrew Cain, both of Evans, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 24th, at 11:30 a.m. at the Bethel Brick United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kitty Newton and Mack R. Cain officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 11:30 a.m.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. in the Screven Chapel of Joiner Anderson.
Interment will follow in the church's cemetery.
Pallbearers will be E. Clinton Cain, Travis C. Cain, W. Parker Cain, Macrae Cain, Tracey Walker, Matt McGregor, Lionel Gordon, Wyman Gordon and Justin Johnson.
