W. Harold Schmitt

MILLEN, Ga. -- Mr. William Harold Schmitt, age 78, died Saturday, January 19, 2013, at his residence.
He was born in Screven County, a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a retired insurance agent and a member of the Long Branch Church of God.
The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Long Branch Church of God with the Revs. Bill Hammond and Tim Tatum officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Jackson Schmitt of Garfield; a sister, Maggie Jean Black; and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Robert Collins, Tommy Lane, Chris Hodges, Jacob Yarborough, Lewis Edward Jenkins and Berry Williams.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
Crowe-Fields Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
