Officer Ian Frederick Joseph Huggins

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Officer Ian Frederick Joseph Huggins' watch ended on Sunday, April 1st, 2018. Ian, age 53, of Statesboro, Georgia, was born in Trinidad, West Indies, and grew up in South Florida. He was the third of four children.
Ian was a beloved father, brother, uncle, son and friend and never to forget honorable police officer of Statesboro, Georgia.
Ian joined the Statesboro Police Department in May of 2013, where he was a member of the Honor Guard and had received a "Life Saving Award".
He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter Huggins and Elizabeth Domero of Hollywood, Florida.
He is survived by his two beautiful children who meant the world to him: Matthew, age 16, and Hannah, age 11; his eldest sister, Catherine Elder; his brother, Gregory Huggins; and youngest sister, Rhonda Brodsky.
Ian's family would like to thank his brothers in blue and all of his friends for all of the love and support they have given. We honestly wouldn't know what to do without all of you.
Ian will be missed by many! I love you, Bro!
The funeral service is being held on Thursday, April 5th, 2018, at 2 p.m. in South Florida at Beth David Memorial Gardens.
A concurrent service with the Florida service will be live-streamed at Connection Church Statesboro on Thursday at 2 p.m. All friends are invited to attend.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Police Association League, Blue Lives Matter or something of your choosing in his name.
