Mr. Ricky Lavaughn Allen, age 61, of Decatur, Ga., passed away Monday, May 5th, at his residence in Decatur, Ga., after a long illness. He was a Bulloch County native, but resided in DeKalb County for many years. He was a member of Changing Generation Church of Decatur, Ga., under the leadership of Bishop Paul Morton. He was a 1970 graduate of William James High School of Bulloch County. He was certified in heating and air condition and was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Barbara Allen of Decatur, Ga.; his loving children, LaVasha Allen, LaShara Allen and Carlus Johnson, all of Statesboro, Ga., Shanel Allen of Sylvania, Ga., Eric Johnson of Norcross, Ga., and Mataya Johnson of Decatur, Ga.; his loving sisters, Jearlene Patricia Hunter (James) of Long Island, N.Y., and Gloria Allen Lundy of Statesboro, Ga.; his loving brothers, Randy Allen (Tonya) and Kenny Allen (Shernia), both of Macon, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family visitation will be Friday, May 9th, from 7-8 p.m. in the chapel of Craig R. Tremble Funeral Home, Statesboro Chapel.
The Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Ricky Allen will be Saturday, May 10th, at 2:30 p.m. at Thomas Grove Missionary Baptist Church, East Olliff Street, with the Rev. Jerry Humphries, presiding, Bishop Robert Humphries, eulogist, and the Rev. Mary Francis Lee, pastor. Interment will be held in Scarboro Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Portal, Ga.
Mr. Ricky Allen will lie in state from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
