Col. William A. Elbracht, 91, loving husband, caring father, wonderful friend, passed on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2013. Born in Long Island, N.Y., William was stationed in Orlando, Fla., where he met his future wife, Patricia. Married for 69 years, they raised three children, traveled the world and eventually retired from the United States Air Force in Florida.
William is preceded in death by his oldest son, Lt. William M. Elbracht, who served his country as an Army helicopter pilot in Vietnam.
He is survived by adoring wife, Patricia Elbracht; son, Richard A. Elbracht (Sandra F. Elbracht) of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughter, K. Elise Elbracht of Statesboro, Ga.; granddaughter, Renae M. Baker (Dennis R. Baker) of Statesboro, Ga.; great-grandsons, Ian E. Baker and Michael D. Baker of Statesboro, Ga.
A graveside service was held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 14, in the Palm Cemetery, 1005 North New York Avenue, Winter Park, Fla.
Memorial contributions may be made in William's name to the Salvation Army.
