Mr. Franklin L. "Franklin" Beasley, 64, died Friday at his residence. The Evans County native was a member of the Sylvania United Methodist Church, Clayde Pinckney Sunday school class, the United Methodist Mens and was a mason. He was retired from Georgia Power as a construction manager. Mr. Beasley was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Cuban missile crisis.

Mr. Beasley is survived by: his wife, Connie Register Beasley of Sylvania; daughters and son-in-law, April B. Cryder and Cynthia B. & Scott Lee, all of Sylvania; a sister, Joan B. Jensen of Winter Park, Fla.; a brother and sister-in-law, Fenn C. and Pat Beasley of Thomson, Ga.; grandchildren, Haley Mock, Braden Mock, Megan Lee and Jake Lee of Sylvania; and several nieces and nephews also.
Funeral services for Mr. Beasley will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Sylvania United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles E. Cravey officiating.
Burial will be in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery with masonic rites.
Active pallbearers will be Wayne Rountree, Mike Daley, Preston Dees, Wilbur Mathews, Mike Fulghum and Franklin Swain.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Claude Pinckney Sunday school class, the Pop's Kitchen Coffee Club and the Card Club.
