CEDAR CROSSING, Ga. - Mr. John Foskey, age, 88, of 364 Foskey Road, Cedar Crossing, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, in the Carl Vinson Veterans Administration Hospital in Dublin. He was a native and lifelong resident of Toombs County, a retired farmer and veteran of World War II, where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart and three Bronze Stars. He attended Smyrna United Methodist Church and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Sally Wynn Foskey; and seven brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Foskey is survived by his wife of 61 years, Velma NeeSmith Foskey of Cedar Crossing; three daughters, Janice (John) Fordham of Portal, Brenda (Lee) Williams of Vidalia and Helen (Leland) Adams of Uvalda; two sons, Harold (Barbara) Foskey of Vidalia and Wadys Foskey of Cedar Crossing; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. John Foskey will be held Thursday, May 24, 2007, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with the Rev. David Aycock and the Rev. John H. Stephens III officiating. Interment will follow in the Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.
