ELLABELL -- John Lewis Chase, 76, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, in the home of his daughter.

Mr. Chase retired after 24 years of service in the Air Force along with 15 years in the food service business and another 10 years as a bus driver. He was a devoted father and provider for his family. He was a huge Alabama "Roll Tide" fan and enjoyed nothing better than getting together with family and friends for a cookout, card games or just sitting around the pool having fun. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Miriam Sanders, Earline Chase Jackson; brothers, Buford Chase and Arrol Chase.
He is survived by his children, Robby Chase (Amy), Vicky Burney (David), Helen Ramaglia (John), Cathy Hall (Henry) and Sandy Chase; sister, LeMerle Hill; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013, at the funeral home.
Funeral: noon on Monday, December 2, 2013, at South Newington Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve McCoy officiating. Internment: Effingham Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Damon Chase, Joseph Ford, Joshua Powell, Clint Peth, David Peth and John Ramaglia.
