STATESBORO, Ga. -- Ms. Karen C. Butler, age 51, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, December 1, 2012, at her residence under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. She was a 1978 graduate of the Statesboro High School and of the Baptist faith.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her spouse, Charles Fields of Statesboro, Ga.; four children, Charles (Shena) Conner, Tony Canty, Bryan Butler and Edward Butler, all of Statesboro, Ga.; her parents: mother, Geneva McArthur (Walter); and father, William (Erma) Brown, all of Statesboro, Ga.; six sisters, Desiree Butler, Regina McArthur, Sandy Ingles (Keith), Annie Mae Lovett and Natasha Brown, all of Statesboro, Ga., and LeDeidre (Harold) Washington of Portal, Ga.; two brothers, Keith (Shantel) McArthur and Derrick (Marlene) McArthur, both of Statesboro, Ga.; four grandchildren, five aunts, two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Family visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6–7 p.m. in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel at Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
The funeral service for Ms. Butler will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012, at Thomas Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 500 E. Olliff Street, Statesboro, GA, 30458, with Bishop Larry Jones as eulogist, the Rev. Mary Odom Lee, pastor. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
