STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Brenda Beasley Sherrod, age 67, died on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Memorial Health Medical Center. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was a 1965 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School. Mrs. Sherrod worked for Brooks Instruments for 10 years and Cooper Tools for over 21 years as an operator/assembler. She was known for her chewy cake and was affectionately known as "Mrs. Chewy". She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was known for her sweet smile. Mrs. Sherrod was a member of the Crossroads Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Winona Beasley; and a brother, William "Bo" Beasley.
` Surviving are her spouse of 47 years, Eddie Sherrod of Statesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Sherrod of Statesboro and Jamie and Jennifer Sherrod of Brooklet, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jaidyn Sherrod, Addison Sherrod, Tucker Sherrod and Will Sherrod; a sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia and Gene Strickland of Daisy, Ga. a brother, Jim Beasley of Statesboro. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church with the Rev. Cary Swanson and the Rev. Mark Willis officiating.
The pallbearers will be Tony Strickland, Mike Strickland, Mike Rowland, Jerry Deubner, Tom Bigwood, Wayne Swint, Patrick Standish and Kenny Robertson.
Interment will be in Old Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Community Church Youth Program, 23923 Highway 80 East, Statesboro, GA 30458.
